I always tell new quilters this is not a cheap or inexpensive craft/art! At least joanns can be utilized for tools with coupons!! Start by buying one thing at a time with a coupon!! One way to start out and not spend alot for a small quilt is find a line and buy a charm pack or two they are easy to work with and you don't break the bank and have tons of choices. $10 at a LQS!
