I have studied the picture, and 'imagine' that the pinwheel is created by stitching two triangles together, turning right sides out, insert the 'raw' edge between the two corner background squares and stitching down on side only, pin the free 'point' out of the way, join each section, then after you have created the block, whip stitch the part seam down by hand and fold back point to centre and stitch, add button.. tah dah..well that's how I would do it! :thumbup:

I have done the 3D pinwheels as in the tutorial, but think I like this idea better!! So thanks for the heads up! :thumbup: :thumbup: :thumbup:
