On my Elna, I have bent mine and then bent it back. It also refuses to find the eye of anything smaller than a 12 size needle so I'm sure it needs adjusted.
My Singer works every time for my husband but just seems too complicated for me or I'm not holding my mouth right or something so I bought a needle threader for it.
