I made 2 queen size ones using 5" squares in the 70's. I have had 1 more cut out and ready to piece for at least 30 years. The first one I use a sheet blanket, & the 2nd one, I used a sheet. I have rebacked both of them. The double knit holds up forever. My 39 year old daughter took it every where, - to camp, sleep overs, her honeymoon, and weekend vacations. She is waiting for me to reback it again. That was my first quilt and I still need to get a pic of it. -- I did use a thin poly batting in them, which has nearly disinagrated.
