My kids LOVE to hear me sewing at night. They go to bed so much easier when they know I am in the next room quilting. I remember listening to my mother sewing at night. There is something comforting and reassuring in that sound (especially when snuggled under a quilt).
I never thought of that--the comforting sound of mama sewing to tucked in kids... neat.

My 11 yr old DGS comes and stays with me and when I sew he complains he can't hear the TV! So I find myself only sewing on the machine during commercials!LOL He sits right beside me and watches my TV on my work table. There is a TV on the other side of the room for the kids but he has to be joined at the hip to me while he is here!! Love him to pieces!!
