Really, you'd think with all the technology we have, they could find a way to prevent power outages from storms.

Also a way to predict which trees or major branches are likely to fall in a storm and remove them before they do harm.
Up here in the snowbelt, the power companies do a terrific job of trimming trees back so we don't lose power. The trees may look a little funny, but losing power for a few days is nothing to laugh at if you don't have any backup for heat and water pumps. I cannot remember any time we lost power for more than a couple hours or so.
