You did a great!!!!!!!!!! job. So glad you tried hand quilting. Do you know anyone else who hand quilts? Ask to watch them so you can get the rocking motion. It may just be something so simple as holding the needle differently. A young lady in our group was always breaking her needle. When she watched me - who has been handquilting for many years - she got IT! And loves to handquilt. Keep trying. You have it already.
