My husband's deceased mother and great aunt created the Christmas tree below from old buttons and costume jewelry. They called it "the Family Jewels," and it was a big joke to get the reaction from any newcomer in the family. It now hangs in our living room, and being very heavy, it is a booger to put up and take down; so I decided to make a wallhanging to cover it up so it could remain in place all year long.
