I haven't read all of the postings, but Jinny Beyer also has some nice pp patterns w/quite a few free. I'm hooked on pp also. I use velum and don't have too much trouble removing the paper. It's a little expensive, but better than regular paper and cheaper than Carol Doakes papers. Good luck and happy paper piecing.
