Thanks for sharing how it was done. I have it as a goal for 2012. Now to take or find the perfect picture. There is a quilting program for the computer that will do this to. I can't remember the name, but it converts a picture to the black and white image and the pieces needed. Going to have to think what it is called. I think it has the word quilter in it. Darn where is a memory when you need it.

Lay velum over the top and draw your pattern from the different values on the photo. from this you get your applique pieces. I started with the whole shape of my dog as one fabric and build the other colors onto it. If you get the eyes positioned right the rest will look great. Some of the whiskers and hair are quilted in. Of course this is just a summary of how its done. It was a lot of fun and I am very pleased with how it turned out.
