It was on this board where I got the idea to do a twisted version. Here's the link:

I did mine more like this version:
http://lynbrown.com/wp-content/uploa...Gen-Quilt2.pdf but I combined at least 4 regular D9P sub-units with the twisted sub-units to make each star and I purposefully made each star different. I like the secondary pattern that emerges when the center square in the original 9 patch unit is different than the corners as whinnytoo mentioned earlier.
