Never use any kind of a solvent to clean the machine. It takes the pretty decorative patterns off or turns them silver. The oiling is important but easy if you just follow the guide. It will just purr for you. I use mine as a class machine and travel with it. Enjoy your new baby. What are you going to name her. Maybe the name of the original owner?
