Smile paperdoll quilt- I need advice

I am making a paperdoll quilt for my granddaughter for Christmas. I really messed up by cutting out all of the clothes before I realized I should have ironed on the fusible fleece on the back of them before cutting them out!! Now I don't want to ruin my iron or anything. I was wondering if I could use parchment paper. Do you think it would still stick to the parchment paper? What about the freezer paper? The next question, do I put batting in the paperdoll quilt? Can anyone tell me of some light weight thin batting for it? I have written this question 3 times trying to find the forum. Thank you to all of you Suzette
