do you have one of those silicone applique sheets? that would be my first choice. after that, my next choice would be freezer paper. i'm not sure if fusible would stick to parchment. why not take a small piece of fusible and iron it between two pieces of parchment - protecting your iron and surface. let us know how it turns out.
