I would use a walking foot sewing machine to sew on very much leather or heavy canvas - there is nothing worse than a bent needle shaft - ask me how I know.
I probably won't sew very heavy leather - I sent most of my heavy hides up to my gson, since he was interested in working with them. Most of what I have left around here is soft garment leather. I have been sewing on quite a bit of upholstery fabrics lately (I seem to have gotten sidetracked from my quilt), and that has been on my Kenmore. I have two cane back chairs that keep insisting I redo them, too. Lol. For someone with nothing but spare time, I don't seem to have any spare time lately.

I need to rearrange the family room, which seems to have gotten crowded somehow (no dear, I didn't need another machine....it just showed up at the door), and then try to get a photo and see if I can post it. Looking at this machine, I believe there are parts missing off the Olson. Or not. But they are not quite the same.

I would say I also need to stay away from yard sales, but I think I may be addicted, lol.
