My mom 76 bought a DS and she uses it to play crossword puzzles. She loves hers. And she bought one for me so my grands would have it to play. I take it with me to the hospital when we have to wait for hours (really usually just an hour or two). My DH gets his medical care at the VA so we are there alot.
They are great to keep your mind busy. I used to take hand sewing but I don't do much by hand anymore.
