um.. i'll take a picture .. I sewed it to one side but I didn't keep a straight line (I can fix that) and then folded it over and tried to machine sew it down ..

normally i have just made regular binding- fold in half, pressed, machine stitched to one side- folded to other side- stitched down == just like nycquilter does=
without knowing what exactly went wrong on yours we really are not much help i'm afraid.
