Well thanks everyone for your help I am now recieving e-mail alerts, and figured out what was wrong with at least part of the picture problem. I was set to show most recent posts first, changed to oldest, and now I don't feel lost reading post as I start from the beginning now.

A couple of questions. Unless I go to archives the only way I can see a picture is if I download it. Isn't there another way. When I open a topic sometimes I feel as though I am in the middle of a topic and totally lost. Everyone seems to be able to see the picture except me.
Second question, I loved the e-mails alerting me of any remarks on something I started or additional comments other people made on someone elses topic. How do I set my profile to allow this. Have changed it twice and am still not recieving any.
