I have made quilts for friends' babies in colors that they wanted but I didn't like. I never like the results when I do that, but other people don't see the quilts the way that I do and they rave about them. Go figure! I'm betting your quilt will be fine (and if it isn't, then dogs need quilts, too ... I bet they love their dog.).
