I have the 7700 and love it. No it is not a long arm, but there is a lot of room under the harp. I had the 6500 but wanted the accufeed, the extra room under the harp, the free arm (I still hem pants and do a bit of other sewing) and the extra lighting is a dream. I also love (and use) the decorative stitches that were not on the 6500 -- or they were not adjustable on the 6500). It is a great machine and Janome is running some wonderful specials for Christmas.
