I was in my thirties when I got my first pair of glasses for distance. I remember being astonished that you could actually see leaves on the trees. I've tried bifocals, both with lines and graduated. Couldn't stand them. Tried contacts for all of half an hour. Now I have one pair of glasses for distance and one for use with the computer. So far, knock on wood, I can read fine without glasses. But, I'm considering that Sherlock Holmes magnifying glass to read all the tiny labels.
