Two things very valuable in a quilters basic supplies ... graph paper and coloured pencils/pens!
I hate to go on vacation without them! I'm like a little child. I even made a set for traveling! I used graph paper pads instead of regular paper. Here is the link:

I think the colored pencils she shows are great for traveling too. You just screw them up like a mechanical pencil. No breaking. I'm SUCH a little kid at heart!
