Here is one using the log cabin. They have a few others on this site. I made a crocheted one years ago and my mom still uses it and is about the same age as yours. I am trying to get to make another one for my self. Kids are getting older and want their own and taking what I have on hand. Going to embroidery choo choo train designs on a wedge and then sew them together. No pattern yet, but going to work on it. The log cabin looks nice.
