I use New Bedford Thread Do furrier Wased Skein for hand sewing. It comes in a very convenient package. It never knots or gets twirly and is very strong. The one I use is called Size A (I have no idea what that means) and comes in a 675 yard package. I use it for all of my hand sewing. I even use it for handsewing sewing my stuffed animals arms and legs on. It is very strong, and very easy to use. My LQS carries this.
