Both my FW and my 301 have a slight, charming Clack Clack/Tick Tick sound. Even with good oiling. And they both work just fine. I think it's NORMAL.
You can sometimes adjust the feed dog plate and screws and this will stop the noise. None of my 3 301's make a ticking or clacking noise.....
