I have/ had family who have worked for the USPS for years...
Their biggest suggestion for shipping packages is to be sure
and put address labels tucked into the articles being shipped.
If a package gets torn, or the paper covering rips, the
addressess can be come lost/unreadable. Maybe pinning a
shipping label deep into the folds of a quilt might help it to
continue on it's way or be returned to the originator.
In some cases the shipping barcodes get ruined too,
so it would be impossible to track in their system :wink:
