2 years ago, a very dear friend was diagnosed with brain cancer. Hearing this, I decided to make a quilt for her, hoping the love, joy, and energy included with each stich would help comfort her and aid in her healing. Sadly, my friend died shortly after her diagnosis and before I finished her quilt. It knocked the wind out of my sails, I cried for days, and packed the quilt away. I brought it out today and decided it needed finishing. I'm thinking her family will want it, I'll ask when it's done. I have a long way to go with it, the star in the picture is the only one complete, I finished it just to take the picture. The floral is a wide striped fabric, I cut triangles, four joined to make the square. The star is paper pieced. I'll keep you posted with my progress.
