Actually, my 319w treadles pretty easily. It is just when you treadle all day - you feel it! The hardest/best workout machine I have to treadle is my Davis Vertical Feed, but I have a pre 1900 Davis - around 1886 - it is not an easy one to treadle, but I love that machine! I don't mind the workout - I love the fact that I can be sewing all day and getting some exercise at the same time. I don't want to make the 319w easier to treadle, nor the Davis. One of these days maybe, but for now I enjoy the workout!

Miriam the larger wheel sounds interesting, but I don't mess with my machines if I don't have to. I like them the way they were originally designed! Let us know if you try the larger wheel!
