I have used canvas drop cloths from Home Depot for years for other things than painting. We used to do pre-1840's re-enactment/mountain man era. We bought our wall tent from a company and it was just canvas, good old heavy marine canvas. Well we didn't buy a fly, floor cloth or anything else and we needed those. A friend told us to go to the Home Depot and check out the paint tarps made of canvas. We did and the cost was probably half if not less than what we would have paid through the company that made the tent. All we had to do was buy a gallon of waterproofing to water proof. I even bought some of the light weight drop cloths and made breeches for my husband out of the fabric. Cheaper than buying duck cloth at JoAnns. Hardware stores sometimes have some of the coolest tools to use for more than what they are intended for.
