Crafts and being creative can keep you sane! I think I enjoyed my craft times more when the kids were tiny because it got me out of my little world for a bit of time.
Of course, in those years we had so little money that the only option was making my own Xmas decorations and many of the gifts too. The kids, who now have their own children, still like to decorate their trees with some of Mom's old handmade decorations. What I thought was economizing turned out to be memory making. :)
