I also use the magnetic snaps, but eliminate the button and loop. I cut my handles 5 inches wide. Fold in half wrong sides together. Open and then fold each side in to the middle fold. Place a webbed strap (1 inch wide) under one of the folds, fold back to 1.25 inches wide, then sew three equal lines to hold strap together. I also like to sew the pocket into the seam when sewing the top front of the bag to the bottom front. It makes a much neater placement.
