Your quilt is magnificent! I also learned how to quilt, doing a log cabin entirely by hand. I am not using my own designs and machine piecing and will quilt it by hand. Do you use 1/4" tape for the seam allowance or stitch in the ditch. I don't have the room or a large enough machine to machine quilt, but enjoy hand quilting although it takes lots longer.
