Our Muslin over here is very sheer I think maybe what you call Muslin we refer to as Calico - we are going to need a dictionary between us LOL. So I am assuming that you are using calico. If you can nudge me in the right direction as to where you got it maybe I can take a look.
I adore the effect it gives your quilt, as you said a sort of vintage look.

Just check on line at most fabric shops. I get mine from a friend who owns a curtain shop, she orders it by the bold. I think it's called Kona cotton, It is very soft to hand quilt and holds stitches beautifully!
