Well, this IS pathetic. I put in a needle in the not all there needle clamp. Then I put a bobbin in the bobbin holder with a couple burrs still on it and stuck it in the machine, threaded it up and low and behold Mr. Ed stitches. No motor mind you but there are perfect stitches - well on the top.... On the bottom are big fat loops. SSSOOOO I have to go look up my own information on tensions so I can fix it. That machine turns real nice now and I was able to make a zig zag stitch. It's coming along. http://www.quiltingboard.com/vintage...s-t170748.html link to the tension information...
