I am now sitting at their house waiting for the gas company to come and shut the meter off. Fortunately the only gas appliances are the heater/ac unit and the hot water heater. Any way I am over here for awhile. Will complete the gift tomorrow, pick up a couple more items and mail by the dead line. I hate just sitting and waiting.
A similar thing happened to me a number of years back. I was invited to a baby shower and had bought a sweet cheater quilt so all I had to do was put on the binding which was an islet ruffle. I waited until the morning of the shower and sat at the machine. Did you guess? The power went out and did not come back on til late afternoon. Lucky for me the shower was in the evening so I got it done but what a day I spent worrying whether to do it by hand or wait for the machine. Anyway, she liked it so all ended well. As it did for you. Sorry you had such a day.
