At first he said it does have the feed dogs, but looked at it while I was talking to him and realized it doesn't.
He said he's not real technical and can't send or post any pictures. I told him I'd have to find out from my friends what else I need to ask to figure out if this is what I'm looking for. It's about 80 miles away from me, and I'd have to figure out how to get it home.
Is the fact that it has no feed dogs, a long bobbin and is a Davis make it what I'm looking for?
Thank you!
Celeste, it probaby is the Davis Vertical Feed like the one I have. The last date on the slide plate for several of our Vertical Feeds is 1883. Mine, from paperwork with the machine is a 1886 model. There are several people on here who have that Davis. If the machine is complete - has the shuttle and shuttle bobbin - I'd find a way to get that machine! If the shuttle were missing, you'd be looking at about $50 just to get a new 'Davis' Shuttle - they are very pricey! The needles are available on e-bay - you will need Boye 10's or Davis longs 1x2 needles! I hope you can find a way to get the machine!
