I would put it in a mesh bag and use vinegar in the wash; it really helps. If that doesn't work a friend of mine said the carpet cleaner that is for pee works; she used it in the wash with a throw rug. I have an old cat and she has issues once in a while so I keep a large gallon of vinegar on hand at all times. I use cider vinegar since I like it for food as well but white would also work.
