oh munner, you make a very good point, and I agree that anyone should find out as much as possible about the person they are making a quilt for and make it to meet their needs. In this particular case, Cheri is very active in the cause and collects pink ribbon items. It was her husband who chose the kind of quilt for her to have and the colors in it. My donation quilts are made as much as possible to match the likes of the person. I have made horse, bird, panda, car, zoo, bright floral, flower garden, and many others in colors that the person likes, even if I don't care for them myself. I do try to put one small ribbon somewhere on the quilt, even if it's just on the label. That ribbon is about me and my mission and is not a blatant part of the quilt.
