when i use fleece, it's because i don't want both backing and batting...half my family lives in southern cal and arizona, so it's the perfect weight for them... i cut 1/5" strips of fleece for the binding, attach the back to the front with whatever i'm doing ...quilting, tying, bar-tacking, etc., and then bind by just folding the strips in half and top stitching thru all... it is strong, wears forever, is easy to do as it does not ravel so it does not have to be double folded at all... and it looks really nice with wavy or decorative rotary cuts...
