My machine sits on the front edge of the back flap of wood. I have to lift the machine a little bit higher than it will be sitting, then I lower the back flap so that it sits flush with the rest of the top, and then lower the machine so that it is now sitting with it's back edge on ​the front edge of the wood flap. The wood flap holds the machine up in place while sewing.
