you had your editor turned off in your Settings.
i fixed it for you.
all members can customize a wide range of settings.
if you haven't explored them yet, go to Settings (top right corner of every page).
selecting the "Enhanced (WYSIWYG) Editor Toolbar", for example, makes uploading photos as easy as pie. :-)
