Sorry to hear that Xmas is a hard time to get money for something. It's a shame people ask you to make something and then back out did she know the price up front? I've had someone pull that same thing on me yrs ago asked me to crochet something and would pay me on the Fri. said she didn't have the change and never pd me that puts a real damper on making things to sell.
