Default Another polyester quilt brought back to life

I made this purple and white-her school colors- polyester quilt for my youngest daughter over 20 years ago, and just backed it with a white sheet. She brought it to me on Monday, I was in town on Tuesday and picked up some flannel, and Wednesday, I sat at the machine and attached the plaid flannel that I found for a warmer backing. There was a little tear in the white sheeting, which has now become a border, so I cut out a little heart of the plaid, and raw edge appliqued it on. That was a first for me, but hope it will hold. This quilt was made so long ago, and I am amazed at the pattern that I picked out. I hate making flying geese and always shy away from them, and I think I know why now. I must have struggled with them on this quilt. The polyester, of course, is holding up great, and with a flannel backing now, will really be a warm quilt. I have some flannel left and will make her a pillowcase to go with it.
