I would think that you might run into difficulty if the seam allowances are bulky but if you can sew through denim, it will be fine. Try not to overstretch the top and as someone mentioned, you may need a knit needle. Depending on what kind of knit they used, some can run if the needle breaks a thread. I have seen one machine quilted and it looked beautiful. Good Luck.
