Sorry I didn't have the name of the pattern in front of me when I posted the pictures. It's "Pocket Parade Tote, ps 015", designed by Penny Sturges. I know it's available from
www.quiltsillustrated.com, and probably many other places. A friend of mine and I had a "sew-in" and she brought the pattern and guided me through the first one, which was the blue. (Now I have to buy my own pattern because I love making it.) I just used some fabric I had in my stash because I didn't want to use "good stuff" in case I messed up. Well, I was very pleased with the first one and actually gave it away as a Christmas gift. I used fusible fleece for the interfacing and it worked great. The purse is quite sturdy, and held up to the weight of everything I crammed in it on my Christmas trip, including my netbook, a hardcover book, zipper bag with iPod, wallet, etc. Can you tell I'm hooked on purse-making now? As for the fabrics, I think the pattern called for two different fabrics, but I used three on the blue one and more on the Bulldog one. I liked the contrast!
And MANY THANKS for all the compliments. It's nice to get an "attagirl", isn't it?
