Thanks for all the advice!!! If I make a quilt and get 10 years out of it on my bed I'll be happy. By then I probably want another one. I'll make one that I really like but not with applique or hand quilting. It'll be real pretty without the fuss and invested hours.
It's going to be my summer project so I'll be spending time searching for the perfect pattern this winter and spring.
BTW: I have a little Bichon Frise who does not shed but can get excited if the conditions are right!
