OOPS you lost me, sounds like very confusing directions, and of course that makes it worse if you are rushing! Chill out and Think through this can you substitute another fabric (Iam assuming this is a kit with limited fabric), or can you just cut some more? It sounds like you have alread joined some strips, which of course complicates EVERYTHING and takes it past cutting mistake to cuttingmistake not discovered till joined. A whole different ball game. I did this on the Christmas table runner I was making for one of my sons (and wife), so I rushed to store purchase small amount more of fabric and set aside miscut, mis sews until next year when I will adapt those to a runner for my self!!!
