How sad to think of people keeping cherished objects and heirlooms "put away" for safekeeping, where no one can see them. Life is to ENJOY, every day you can. It will be over soon enough, and guess what - those kids and GKS you were saving the good stuff for - they may not want it!!
My mum, who passed when I was a child, left a dozen bone china cups and saucers, I have 6 and my sis has 6. I use them regularly when I have a cup of tea, even if it just me.
