This is very pretty and I do the samething. Sometimes I buy 2 panels and use one to make pillowshams to match the quilt. I have used cornerstones, flying geese, 1 1/2", 2 1/2" amd 3 1/2" sashings or borders to adjust sizes. Laying out the panel against other colors helps alot. You can add colors to adjust your size.
