I have a bobbin winder and would not be without it. It does have a tendency to pop up at first but just put my finger on it lightly. Be sure to start the thread for winding spred out so it doesn't want to wind more in one place. I am lazy and like others said, I wind all the bobbins I need (colors) before I start something and do not have to interupt myself so often.
